Over the past week while Reid and I were in Jackson, WPR started its on-air fundraiser. Last week was a series of “challenge hours”. During the challenge hour week we are not on the air continuously asking for money. Instead we ask people to call in during certain hours with a pledge which is matched by money already pledged.

This week we start the continuous on-air drive to finish up whatever amount was not raised during the challenge hours. We have about $50,000 left to raise during this week.

Public Radio really is unique and I wouldn’t trade my job for anything. Let me also take a moment to remind you to call your local public radio station or go to their website and make a pledge. It doesn’t take long and really is a great value for your money. They provide news and music 24/7 to keep you informed and entertained with no commercials.
