Once I had finished in Jackson, I headed to Thermopolis via Dubois. The Thermopolis transmitter is actually located on Copper Mountain. No horses necessary this time! The road was clear and dry.

Made it to the site! Considerably less snow, wind and ice this time…

Performing the same upgrades on the Thermopolis transmitter…

While at the site, I noticed that the transmitter’s controller was reporting a backup battery failure. This might explain some of the odd readings I had been getting from the site on occasion…

Transmitter controller board and backup battery…

A small coin cell retains the controller’s settings in the event of a power failure

Once again, a successful upgrade. Before I headed back down the mountain I had the privilege of witnessing an absolutely gorgeous sunset. Look at how the mountains are illuminated in the background by the sun breaking through the clouds.

Time to head for the hotel and get some sleep for the night…
