After spending the night in Newcastle, I headed down to my site in Douglas. This site had suffered a UPS failure. It had been bypassed earlier this year but needed to be replaced to protect the equipment. I also had some minor remote control wiring to do at the site.
At the site in Douglas…This site is has a fairly short tower and small building. The telephone pole next to the site with the 950 Mhz microwave dishes is an abandoned energy company radio facility.
The building…It could probably use some work…
This site was previously broadcasting in HD but had suffered a roof leak that damaged the HD transmitter (on the left) beyond repair. A Crown FM500T transmitter provides the analog signal until a new HD transmitter can be purchased and installed.
The failed UPS…Completely dead. No indications. It refuses to power up.
The new UPS installed in the rack…
Unfortunately the NEW UPS that I had brought to the site would not power up either! I will bring both units back to Laramie for repairs and/or warranty replacement.
