Off to my Sundance transmitter site next…Never know what you’re going to encounter on these roads…A bunch of cattle decided to occupy the road this time…

Looks like an air intake vent has broken…I’ll have to notify the site manager to get it fixed.  In the mean time, however, I was able to temporarily patch it back together.

This is the other end of that air intake…Gross…

Applying heat shrink tubing to some wiring in the remote control system…

This site is having issues with the remote control ‘hanging’ on the phone line.  A modified power strip will cycle power to the remote control after 6 rings with no answer.

The other issue with the remote is hanging the phone line which causes a busy signal…This device is a “Max Call Timer” which will terminate the call and cycle power to the remote after 4 minutes on the line.  Most of our calls are MUCH shorter than that.

Again using a small ‘netbook’ PC to program equipment at the site and sweep the antenna.
