Now that the new transmitter is installed it is time to start on the new antenna installation. The first step is getting the antenna to the site…We had taken delivery of the antenna in Laramie and brought it to the site in Evanston. Even for a relatively small two bay antenna it was quite a task to unpack it and get everything ready to go up on the tower.
Two antenna bays (on the trailer) and a number of miscellaneous parts arrive in Evanston…
Mounting brackets…One for each antenna bay. These will attach the antenna bays to the tower legs.
One antenna bay, nicely packed.
Everything is packed securely into the truck bed and ready to go up to the site.
The site is up there somewhere…
Another view of the site…Note all the ice clinging to the towers.
Even the cobwebs at the site have a nice coating of ice!
Our “temporary” antenna…No wonder the transmitter isn’t producing any power!
Unloading the antenna bays…They will be stored in the building until we can climb the tower to install them.
Hauling a bay down to the building for storage…
Done for now! Let’s get out of here before the snow gets much worse!
