Over the past year or so I have been replacing old and outdated remote control equipment at my transmitter sites with more up to date units.  These newer units will (among other things) allow me to receive alerts via e-mail rather than telephone.  They will also allow me to monitor and control them via the Internet rather than strictly via dialup telephone which has become less and less reliable in recent years.  Today’s installation is in Newcastle, Wyoming…

The old remote control unit and one of the relay panels has been removed…

A second wiring panel from the old remote control remains to be removed…

The new remote control and wiring block is installed.

All wiring is complete!  Note the neat cross-connections between the two halves of the punch block as well as the multi-pair wiring between the screw terminals on the new remote control and the punch block.

A network switch and router have been installed to connect everything and allow remote access via a DSL line…

The DSL modem…

Another install complete.
