I’m back in Newcastle and Sundance…This time I’m installing new network switches and preparing additional remote controls for other sites while I’m on the road.

In the hotel room…Getting ready to wire up another remote control.

The wiring is terminated on the punch block, next I need to connect to the screw terminals on the remote control.

One half of the wiring on the remote done…

The other half is now complete.  Note that I had to temporarily remove the punch block from the mounting shoe in order to access the screw terminals on the remote control.

One more completed remote control.

Labels on the punch block for easier identification once the unit is installed at the site.

Back in Newcastle…I have just completed installing a new network switch.  These HP ProCurve network switches have proven to be very reliable for this purpose.  A number of two-way radio sites around the state carrying Public Safety traffic use the exact same model of switch.

This is the switch that was previous installed–it failed shortly after installation.  Further investigation revealed that it was suspect and probably should never have gone out into the field.

Looks like we have another problem here in Newcastle…The tower lighting system is showing an alarm.  The site owner has been notified and will have to deal with this one…

Back in Sundance…Another HP ProCurve switch is installed.

Hmmm…Feels like I was just here!
