Once the appropriate parts arrived, I headed to Rock Springs to do some equipment upgrades in Rock Springs. The engineer from our equipment vendor came along to assist with the installation.
We had no problem getting to the site but apparently the snow had drifted a bit deeper inside the fence than I thought…I managed to high-center the Suburban on the snow drift and had to dig in order to get it back out.

It didn’t take long to do the actual equipment upgrade. The new equipment streamlined things significantly and we were able to remove quite a bit of old wiring.

The final step was to check the delay, audio levels and spectrum analyzer to ensure the new equipment was operating properly.
This piece test of equipment measures the difference in level and delay between analog and digital signals. Adjustments are made to produce the minimum difference between the two.
The spectrum analyzer trace shows the bandwidth occupied by the signal. Looks good…
We spent the night in Rock Springs and went to check out another problem in Pinedale the next day.
