The electrician completed a considerable amount of work yesterday and finished the final tie in of temporary electical service to my new transmitter building today. This will allow me to have lighting, heat and cooling in the building in order to begin work.
Giant “extension cord” between the existing building (right) and our new transmitter building (left).
The building has a redundant pair of air handling units for heating and cooling. This control panel will manage the temperature in the building and cycle the units appropriately.
The new transmitter (left) and auxiliary equipment rack (right). Both cabinets will be moved into position and connected together as the project progresses.
Once again inspecting the insides of the transmitter…
Powering up the transmitter…and booting Linux!
Your well dressed engineer inspects his latest piece of broadcast hardware…Yes, that is a spectrum analyzer display on the front panel. This transmitter has an incredible amount of diagnostics built in…Gone are the days of lugging test equipment to the site for troubleshooting! This rig should need very little in the way of maintenance but it’s convenient to have the test equpment built in if needed!
