I had recently upgraded the bandwidth on our satellite network. This required sending a command to all of our satellite receivers to remotely switch to the new bandwidth. The risk was that the receivers might not follow the command to switch and require a trip to manually reset. All went well except for my receive in Pinedale.
The (now cab equipped) Polaris Ranger will take me up to the site.
UW88 and the Polaris–ready to head up Mount Airy outside of Pinedale
Almost getting to the point where a truck could make it in but there are still some pretty heavily drifted spots.
Made it to the top of the mountain.
The KUWX-FM antenna and transmitter building
The issue is confirmed–This receiver is out of lock and no longer producing audio.
This rate should now be 384 rather than 256…
While at the site I noticed an issue with the main transmitter. It will not make full power. I will have to troubleshoot on my next visit. Fortunately I do have a spare transmitter on site.
The spare transmitter happily produces full power.
All done. Time to head back.
Heading back down the hill in the Polaris
Beautiful scenery
